I’ve been in the education system for 35 years in French School Boards and I also taught at Ottawa University. For me, the explicit instruction approach that these courses offer was more than a sufficient opportunity to assimilate the material. This course was perfect for me. I work for a fairly new company and the database had been set up by an external accountant. It was set up very basic and being a new user and having no previous A/P, A/R experience, I was shown just the basics of entering in purchased items etc., and creating payroll cheques. Now, after completing this training things make more sense and I feel confident in my abilities to expand on what had been previously done and perform reconciliations and balances. I did the last month balances myself and impressed the accountant and my boss. Yeah me!!! You made me look good. Looking forward to the next level.

I have found this training extraordinary. I am enjoying it a lot, as well as working very hard to take in the information. It is quite comprehensive and has reminded me of some accounting terms that I have not used for a long time, and it flows naturally through the different modules. The Sage 50 software is just amazing, makes the work easier and has so few steps to follow once the settings are arranged according with the needs of your company. I am going to start a new job next week and will be using this software.

The Sage 50 Accounting Level 1 Course was very thorough and easy to understand. I have an administrative background but no accounting experience, however, I was able to complete the course with ease. The video tutorial thoroughly explains concepts and methods in an easy-to-understand manner. There is much support with the video tutorials, exercises and textbook (which I still reference from time to time). The 6-month access to the course online allowed me to learn at my own pace but still run our company at the same time. We wanted to update our bookkeeping system to become more efficient for our business and with Simply Training’s support, with did just that! We purchased their Support Package and – well and it was worth every penny. Sue helped us modify our invoicing system, reports, allowed us to print our own T4s (without the cost of an accountant!) and made payroll a dream (it now takes less than 5 minutes to complete and is done in house). The many “tips and tricks” have allowed us to become more focused, productive and efficient! One final note, Sue’s knowledge is extremely vast. I discovered an error with our bookkeeping and called our accountant to inquire how to fix it. Our accountant was unsure of how to fix the problem. Frustrated, I called Sue and sure enough, she knew exactly what to do!!

I used to use MYOB for my own business books, but when I took over my husband’s books, our accountant uses Sage 50 Accounting so I switched. I knew I wasn’t doing everything correctly and I found out that was true by taking this course! I’m so glad I took it as taking this course was far more effective and I learned about things I never would have known about. Bottom line, I really enjoyed the course and the exercises were very good in learning the content covered in the videos. I liked the combination of learning methods; reading material (text book), watching the video tutorials, and hands on learning by doing the exercises in the Sage 50 Accounting Program. I’m interested in the more Bookkeeping Courses you offer, when they become available, please let me know.

I am one who prefers self-study to classroom study, so this online course suited me well. I actually was amazed how readily I picked up on using the software as I am not a computer genius; therefore, you are doing something right in the way you train people. I give this course an “A”. I found the Sage 50 Accounting Level 1 course pretty useful. I’m a public practice Accountant switching to an internal accounting position and felt it would be wise to brush up on my Sage50 Accounting knowledge. I’ve been using Sage 50 Accounting for the better part of 14+ years. I was still able to learn some tricks in these training courses. One of my company’s enrolled me in the courses to better assist our franchisees, as Sage 50 is the accounting program we recommend to all our new and existing franchisees. I especially liked a few “tricks” that were recommended, so simple and yet I completely missed them when using the program. I self-taught myself, and loved leaning the account reconciliation, I have always done them manually and now switched to the Reconciliation within Sage 50. So, the old saying stands true – you learn something new every day!!! I’m thrilled to have completed both levels… kudos for a great learning experience!

Being one of many accountants in a large corporation, I did not get the opportunity to participate in all areas of the accounting cycle and processes. Your courses filled in a lot of the gaps in my technical understanding of the accounting software (Sage 50 Accounting) and full cycle accounting, which I know will be beneficial as I transition to a small to medium sized organization where they have one accountant that is expected to do everything. I heard about this course from a friend and wanted to learn more about Sage 50 and to be more efficient when using it. I would advise anyone wishing to increase or review their knowledge about Sage 50 to take this course and to take as many courses offered by Simply Training. It was very informative, well presented and it was great getting the support documents, links and explanations. The instructor was very knowledgeable and made each lesson clear to understand and took the time to explain when you had a problem or a question. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like about the course.

The way I used the course was to listen to the video, read the material per lesson, then do the exercise and quiz. I found that this way if any concepts I did not quite fully understand after the video – reading the material helped to clarify. If I needed clarification, it was great to be able to reach to the instructor to ask questions. I also like taking courses online as it eliminates my travel time to and from a location and I can fit it into my busy life and schedule. I found the material and videos were both well done.

I loved the videos as it made following the course easy. I left the audio in the background allowing me to refer to the video while working in the “let’s try it” exercises. I found the course easy to follow and provided the information to allow me do the lessons and yet challenged me to think. I had a very basic knowledge of Excel and truthfully found it intimidating, thanks to the step by step walk through I am excited about learning more and implementing what I have learned in the course to benefit me in my own business. I found Alan to be encouraging and supportive and his response time to handed in material was excellent.
